In a retrospective analysis of 245 cases of narcolepsy in children and young people aged 4-18 years attending sleep and neurology centres in England published in the BMJ Miller et al (doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.1136/bmj.f794) report a  increased risk of narcolepsy after vaccination with ASO3 adjuvanted pandemic A/H1N1 2009 vaccine. The authors warn that their are a number of potential biases in their study design but conclude that in common with similar Scandanavian studies their results suggest a causal association and that the attributable risk could be 1 in 52,000 doses.
