Transition Research Project: Invitation to Participate

posted 8 May 2012, 09:30 by Damian Wood
Dear YPHSIG members

We would like to invite you to take part in a research project.  The purpose of the project is to better understand the nature of transitional care for young people with chronic health conditions in order to develop a clinical practice benchmarking tool.  We aim to explore young people’s and parents’/guardians’ views on how best to achieve continuity during transition from child to adult services and to explore the views of professionals on how best transition can be introduced and sustained.  We are looking for professionals who work with young people and have an interest in transition to take part in a consensus meeting. Click here to download an information sheet that explains more about the project and what it involves.

Our work is funded by The Burdett Trust. The research team includes:
  • Professor Faith Gibson, Clinical Professor of Children and Young People's Cancer Care
  • Susie Aldiss, Researcher in Child Health, London South Bank University.
  • Professor Judith Ellis, Dean, Faculty of Health and Social Care, London South Bank University.
  • Dominic McCutcheon, Senior Lecturer, London South Bank University.
  • Dr. Hilary Cass, Paediatric Neurodisability Consultant, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
  • Laura Rose, Adolescent Clinical Nurse Specialist, University College London Hospitals.
If you are interested in taking part or have any queries about the project, please let Susie Aldiss know by email, her email address is susiealdiss@lsbu.ac.uk .

Thank you for your help.
